Summary of Our 2025 Major Series Lacrosse Entry Draft Selections

On Sunday January 12, 2025, Brooklin Lacrosse Club (BLC) management and coaching staff gathered at BarDown Gastropub at Iroquois Park Sports Centre, Whitby, ON with the six other Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) teams for the 2025 entry draft. 

General Manager Gavin Prout was busy working the phones prior to draft day and was able to secure two selections in each of the first two rounds and one in the third round, the MSL entry draft is composed of five rounds and 35 selections.

Here is the summary of the five selections made by BLC:

Will MacLeod from the Burlington Blaze Junior A  -  1st Round, 2nd overall

    2024 stats – 24 games played, 37 goals and 83 assists for 120 points – 7th in scoring in OJLL

    Member of the 2023 Minto Cup champion Burlington Blaze 

    He is a Junior with the men’s lacrosse program at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA

Nicholas Volkov from the Mimico Mountaineers Junior A - 1st Round, 7th overall

    2024 stats – 13 games played, one goal and three assists for four points

    Stands at 6’3” and weighs 225 lbs.

    Drafted - Albany Firewolves 1st round, 14th overall in the 2023 National Lacrosse League entry draft

    Attends the University of Guelph where he plays on the men’s lacrosse team

Justin Lee from the Mimico Mountaineers Junior A - 2nd Round, 11th overall

    2024 stats – 33 games played, 33 goals and 72 assists for 105 points – 13th in OJLL scoring

    Stands at 6’ 5” and weighs 200 lbs.

    He is a Junior with the men’s lacrosse program at UAlbany in Albany, NY 

Owen Wills from the Toronto Beaches Jr A - 2nd Round, 13th overall

    2024 stats – 23 games played, two goals and nine assists for 11 points

    Stands 6’ 2” and weighs 160 lbs.

    He is a Junior with the men’s lacrosse program with the St. Leo Lions in St Leo, FL

Nate Ruff from the Orangeville Northmen Junior A - 3rd Round, 20th overall

    2024 stats – 29 games played, three goals and four assists for seven points

    Played at the men’s lacrosse program at Lindenwood University (program discontinued Spring 2024)

    He appears on the roster of Robert Morris University men’s lacrosse program

    Named an “Inside Lacrosse” Top 10 most intriguing NLL Draft prospect for the 2026 draft year
